Jana got hooked on yoga after a class with Zena Ursuliak in 1998. Yoga became her guide for processing injury, surgery, sickness, and her first pregnancy. It has become integral to moving through daily life activities with greater ease. Over four years of training, with dozens of yoga teachers from the many different styles gave her a broad perspective. She embraced the term ‘ahimsa’, non-harm which is the foundation of her classes. She shares yoga from a scientific research approach.
Yoga is a complete health regime. Traditional slow paced and introspective classes bring us to the present moment. Her students learn to feel into muscles and joints. Yoga with Yana helps establish new anatomically correct, physiologically regulating, and psychologically positive pathways from brain through nerves into muscles, back to brain. Her classes focus on balance of right/left, front/back, seasonal or repetitive use of muscles.
Come and feel peace of mind, peace of body.

Qi Gong with Jason Deatherage
Wednesdays 7:00 pm Thursdays 7:00 pm Fridays: 2:30 pm
Jason Deatherage will be teaching Chen Taiji and 18 Lohan Palm at Sakuraji in Creston. The class will explore meditative movement and the deep observation of relationships inside and outside the body using the ancient 8 Lohan Palm Qi Gong form and the Hong Junsheng Practical Method Chen Taiji form. The philosophical foundations of these arts will be examined along with how our physical practices can be powerful metaphors for our relationships with all aspects of our everyday lives. Other meditative practices may be examined depending on class interest. All ages and ability levels are welcome. Wear comfortable clothing. Fees are by donation, with 100% of the proceeds going to maintenance and upkeep of Sakuraji.
Jason is a lifelong martial artist, professional musician, parent and working paramedic. His philosophical explorations into the essence of Buddhism and Taoism started before he was a teenager, and he has continued a deep level of inquiry into the real world implications and applications of these philosophies for over 30 years. Jason’s work as a paramedic continues to give him a privileged look at the shifting boundaries of life and death, which contribute a vital reality to his understandings of the philosophies he explores through writing, lectures and physical movement in the form of Taiji, 18 Lohan Palm, Aikido, 8 Shadows Fist Gongfu, and the Piercing Cloud Sword Method.
